Annotated TextsIn this section I present three original narratives in Tepa, as found in the journals of Alma Walker. Two of the narratives are traditional Tepa stories and the third is a translation made by Joseph of the story of the Tower of Babel, which is found in the book of Genesis, chapter 11: 1-9. "Two Otters" and "The Tower of Babel" are presented in phonetic as well as phonemic transcription following the conventions outlined in the Introduction; all texts are supplied with a morpheme-by-morpheme analysis.Go back to the Index. |
