Google's Whacked - 11/16/03 - 8:02 pm

I'm usually impressed by Google, but a search for conlang lists three dead conlang directories in the Top 10. Langmaker.com is #11. It's my own fault, for using the term "model language" (a term I used long before I encountered other language makers) instead of "conlang". If you have a site, please add the following link to it:

That should help the site rank higher. Thanks!

Shelling Out Another Calculator Word - 11/15/03 - 9:38 pm
Thanks to DNash for suggesting another Oðblgshezi word (OK, it is really two words, but what the heck).

High-water Mark - 11/15/03 - 7:31 pm
We've reached a new high-water mark of submissions. In the next 14 days, there will be 22 model languages and 30 New English definitions added or updated. Whew.

Playing Favorites - 11/03/03 - 12:54 pm
An anonymous poster - signing him- or herself as "Not a cheater!" - writes, "I don't think you should choose words that YOU submit as your favorites!" A fair criticism, though when I wrote the introduction to New English I was the only one who had contributed any words (about 50, IIRC). The language now has over 470 words, thanks to all of you. The most popular words, based on traffic from other sites, are:I'm pretty sure the popularity of sarchasm is only because people can't spell. :-)
