Urban Legend - 6/30/03 - 5:10 pm
Belgian music group Urban Trad finished second at the Eurovision Song Contest (which Abba once won) with "Sanomi", a song sung in an artificial language (Sanomi Real Audio; Sanomi lyrics by Yves Barbieux). (Thanks to IdeoLengua and others for writing me with details.)

Dining off the Word Menu - 6/28/03 - 6:57 pm
Tim Burns asked to know what happened to the Dublex Word Menu. I was told it was a trademark infringement by a company with a product called Word Menu, so I had to change the name to Dublex Lexical Outline.

Versioning Babel - 6/27/03 - 6:32 pm
Masukomi writes, "Re. Babel Text: it isn't specified which version of the Bible this passage should be translated from. In many cases it wouldn't make a difference but I'm sure there are some languages in which it would." You are welcome to use any translation you prefer. I used three or four different versions for my Nadsat translation.

Sharing Your Conlang With Other People - 6/14/03 - 3:44 pm
One01airborn3 asked, "I've created a successful conlang with a word-list and working grammar. How do I share my conlang with other people?"

Ideas--
  • Build a web site about your language: I recommend CuteSite Builder for a web-publishing program and NetIdentity for site hosting
  • Join a conlang community to discuss your language: the CONLANG mailing list, Zompist, LiveJournal's Conlang Forum
  • Post a Babel Text and a Model Language Profile in your language here!
