Pronunciation Notes

Vowels are as in (e.g.) Spanish; pronounced as diphthongs when juxtaposed, even between words.
The apostrophe represents a weak vowel, realized in most dialects as schwa, elided in liaison.
Digraphs th, dh as 'thin, then' respectively; gh, kh as Modern Greek ghama, khi.
G is always hard, as in 'gig'.
