Letter M Neographies   Advanced

Maa'lua - A vertical script, where each syllable is written with three characters (plus one or two dots for tone). Writing direction is top-to-bottom, left-to-right.

Mailani

Majjapi - Majjapi is an extension of the Japanese Katakana syllabary, in order to make possible the use of more consonant sounds, than is catered for with the standard Katakana.

Malk'urian - It is a syllabary, with some special features. Most of the basic characters are derived from Japanese (Hiragana), modified by the needs of the final-consonant marks (and some invented ones, that are made necessary by the system, since more than two diacritics on top of one character are not possible). Note that the "intruders" may be used with any syllable where they make sense, and that the 's' and 'h' "intruders" get voiced, if the main consonant in the syllable is voiced because of a voicing mark (which is borrowed from Japanese). Similarly, if one syllable is closed with a voiceless final consonant, and the next syllable begins with a voiced consonant, the syllable-final also get voiced (usually).

Maltovian

Mang!ap

Mannaci - This script could be called a linear Abugida, but it is classified as an Alphabet, despite that the vowel @ (schwa) is inherent in each consonant symbol, unless a vowel symbol follows it.

Marain - Invented by Iain M. Banks, the science fiction author well-known for his 'Culture' novels. What is known so far, Marain can encompass all forms of scripts, having a practically unlimited symbol space.

Marttamil - Here is a new script called Marttamil, which is a simple alphabet, but phonetically, it is similar to the Tamil script: it is phonetically underdetermined. For example the 'p' letter may be pronounced /p/, /b/, /ph/, /bh/, /f/, /v/ or any other non-nasal bilabial (or labiodental) sound, and similarly for the other stops (in the first two rows of letters, those that are not nasals). As in many of my other scripts, the odd 'p' and 'm' are linguolabials.

Mathasian Fraser

Mathasian Gë'ëz

Mathasian Redjang

MatheNhla

Math IPA Braille - A phonetic script based on a "scientific" version of the normal Braille dot script used by the blind.

MathPhon

Matilano

Matsaurashtra - Unlike the Saurashtra script (which is an Abugida) Matsaurashtra is a true Alphabet.

Mattai Le - This is a large extension of the Tai Le/Dehong Dai script used in south-western China. As such, it is of the Indic Brahmi type, related to Khmer, Myanmar, Thai and so on.

Megdevi Script -

I originally created this script for my very first language, Megdevi. Like many first languages, Megdevi had an overabundance of phones, and no allophony. As a result, much of the IPA that I knew at the time was built into this script. Nevertheless, I managed to make a usable, Arabic-style script specifically to accommodate my language.

[Note: Don't judge the script by the font. This was the first font I ever created, and it's got a lot of flaws.]

Mhigiwipian Glyphs - An alphabet for the artlang Mhigiwipian.

Minhyan

Munhan - A unique featural writing system, where the features combine to create symbols that represent syllables while being evocative of Chinese characters.

Myathwei - This is the normal writing system, that Mathasian dwarves use in everyday life (for more formal use, BoxWriting is used).
