Elatoi

Eldanar

Elkarîl - Mark Rosenfelder writes, "Elkarîl writing-- consisting of columns of grimacing faces-- may look at first like it is logographic; but in fact it is an alphabet, and indeed mostly featural... Each CVC syllable in Elkarîl is drawn in the form of a face-- taking advantage of the hominid brain's ability to perceive faces quickly and easily as a gestalt."

Eloram Glyphs - A phonetic alphabet for a family of fantasy languages.

Eloranta - Eloranta is the usual writing system used by the elves in Mathasia. The name Eloranta means 'Writing of Life' (the word is built from 'elf', which means 'life' -- a variant of Lappish and Finnish 'ello', which also means 'life' -- and 'ranta', 'writing'). There is a second set of tone marks, which are written as diacritics, above the vowel characters, they look like the tone marks given in the picture, but are smaller. These are sometimes used, when there are no long vowels (whose dots would interfere with the small marks, if these were used). The normal tones are denoted with the usual five-level system used for Mandarin Chinese. Usually, particular tribes of elves do not use all of the above symbols, and some of them are very rare, for example the first, the fifth and last two symbols in the 'Glottal' row. The first four symbols in the 'Miscellaneous Consonants' box are Epiglottals, which are also very rare.

Embelyon

Emmetian - This is an abugida with CVC characters. Note that the chart shows character parts (try to decode the four characters at the top of the chart, to discover the indigenous name of the script!). This script is actually well adapted to Klingon, and all Klingon sounds are catered for (thus the non-IPA <Q> is the Klingon [qX] affricate). West Emmet, where this script is used, has borrowed its name from an Elven kingdom in Tolkien's Middle Earth.

Em-Tha-Lei - The Mathasian Dwarven Epigraphic-Magic Writing System.

English Shorthand - Massive revision: d10.m12.y04.h18.m14(GMT) Complete rehash of all the shapes to allow cursive writing and to improve on the aestethic quality. Vowel shapes redesigned, some new. E must be written separately to differentiate it from the connector lines. Otherwise, the recommended combination is consonant cluster-vowel, leaving a space afterwards. Might build a website about it later if I get enough interest generated.

European Alphabet - I am looking for help for a "European alphabet" project. The purpose of this alphabet is to provide a common notation for many European languages (at least the 20 official languages of EU). For this purpose, it should be more practical and familiar to use than IPA, but not so precise. Those interested by the project can found some informations in draft form here: European Alphabet. Thank you in advance!

Ewellic - Ewellic is a phonemic alphabet invented in 1980 to write English (and potentially other languages). It consists of simple straight-line strokes, with rotations and reflections. It can be written easily by hand and lends itself to a variety of styles due to its simplicity. An accent mark is placed over the vowel of the stressed syllable in a multi-syllable word. Letters can combine to form ligatures.
