(La)TeX/METAFONT for Conlangers - Latex-for-conlangers is a Yahoo!Groups mailing list. There's also an RSS feed of the list. Here's the description from the group page: "TeX/METAFONT is a set of declarative programming languages for high-quality typesetting of printed documents, created by Donald E. Knuth. While TeX is used to create the documents themselves, METAFONT is used to generate the fonts with which those documents are typeset. LaTeX is a famous macro package sitting on top of TeX and designed by Leslie Lamport to simplify typesetting with TeX while keeping all its power, and is usually preferred over TeX. Together, (La)TeX and METAFONT form an extremely powerful and free tool able to typeset documents in any language and any script you can imagine, and is thus a perfect tool for conlangers to write texts and grammars in and of their languages. Unfortunately, they suffer from a reputation of complexity which! frightens most people. METAFONT in particular is victim of this reputation and is rarely even considered as a usable tool of font design. The lack of METAFONT tutorials or discussion forums doesn't help to enhance this situation either."

The Legend-Makers: An Essay in Defense of Mythopoeia - I have always believed that conlanging, conculturing, and conworlding, which I together refer to as mythopoeia, are truly arts, but many people have trouble accepting this idea. In this essay, I attempt to set down my reasons as to why mythopoeia is not only an art, but indeed the most natural, powerful art of all. (Temporarily hosted on my blog; soon to be moved. I'll update the link when that occurs.)
