DescriptionBarry wrote, "Anyone who has no idea what it is would never think it was a writing system. Written out it just looks like simplified leaf shapes with holes in them. The point of the script is to not write it linearly (well with everything lined up perfectly), but to make it look like the glyphs are blowing, and falling in the wind (I have other drawings of this I need to take photos of), and I usually use curving spirally lines to indicate movement."
InfluencesLeaf is mainly an esthetic script. It's one of those ideas that popped into my head randomly where I thought "why not create something that doesn't look like a writing system but is..." My second thought was "why not do it with leaves, using holes for vowels". Thus, Leaf was born. Leaf is not meant to be written fast, because certain shapes could end up looking like others (H and W). It's more of an artistic script, but it actually does work, and it is NOT a code for the Latin alphabet. It has no home conlang, but suits writing out Spanish, and somewhat, English (it's not meant to represent English accurately though, more of a way that *I'd* recognize what it says).
