Interlinear Translation 1And everywhere had one language and not-lots-of words.
Translation 2And it was when people travelled eastwards, they found a field in Shinar and stopped there.
Translation 3They said to everyone, "Come! We must-make bricks, and cook them lots/much." They used bricks, not stones, and tar as cement.
Translation 4Then they said, "Come! We must-make a city, with a tower that touches the sky, so we will-make a name for ourselves, and not be scattered everywhere."
Translation 5But the God came for to see the city and the tower which the people made.
Translation 6The God said, "If as one community they speak the same language, they could do anything and everything..."
Translation 7...Come! I must-confuse their language, so they not will-understand anything.
Translation 8So the God scattered them from there to everywhere, and they build-stopped the city.
Translation 9Thus, it was called Babel, because the God confused the language of the world. From there, the God scattered them everywhere.
