UniquenessReman is not just another romlang. It takes the Romance language to a direction that has never been taken before, even by other Romance conlangs. From Latin, it has lost grammatical genders, lost agreement between nouns and adjectives, lost most of the conjugations, merged prepositions and conjunctions as well as adjectives and adverbs, and created a subjunctive future tense from the Latin future participle! :) Moreover, its conjunctions/prepositions must be followed by the indirect form of pronouns, even when those are the subject of a verb (when the particles are used as conjunctions), a little like it happens with some Arabic particles.
Language SourcesNone consciously, although Arabic was probably there in my mind when I designed the subclauses (although on the outside it seemed to come naturally from the absence of distinction between prepositions and conjunctions).
Design PrinciplesBasically I wanted a Romance language like no other I knew at the time. My principle was to make a Romance language as different from other Romance languages as English is to other Germanic languages. And as English has grammatically less forms than other Germanic languages, Reman went in the way of simplification too, though it took an unexpected turn :)) .
