Language Typefictional language
UniquenessLinguistic uniqueness: no elements in the language are really unique, but their combination is, unless some incredible coincidence has happened. Among rare traits (for speakers of Western languages) are the adjectives being merged with verbs, and verbs having a lot of room for derivational morphology, making it possible to say, for example, "having been officially commanded to punish oneself again" in one word. Personal uniqueness: it's the only language I've made with which I've been able to write stories and poems, and translate big chunks of things I love, like the Lord of the Rings.
Language SourcesIts phonological structure was meant to be reminiscent of (modern) Germanic languages, but was not designed on purpose as such. The verb system (with many moods, aspects and other nuances, including a politeness/hierarchical attitude) was clearly inspired on Japanese, as well as the adjectives working as verbs. Many of the actual words are purposefully Semitic-like in harshness and structure (CVCVC with frequent gutural sounds).
Design PrinciplesIt was meant to be exquisitely complicated, though not to the point of unusability (by myself, that is); it was designed to be expressive in only a few words, able to leave everything but a few jewels to context. At the same time, it must sound powerful and delicate at the same time. Due to this, many words have been changed, and synonyms abound, so as to have the exact sound for each occasion. My vision of this language, in metaphorical terms, is a sculpture of an undefined shape, made of black grainy stone, covered in a network of fine golden threads, which I alter only slightly nowadays, from time to time.
Interest Of OthersThere are no people involved but me. There have been interested people, usually other language creators, curious about details that most other people can't see.
