Language Typefictional diachronic language
UniquenessÇomyopregi is an offshoot of Proto-Indo-European, and forms an independent branch within the Indo-European family. It is morphologically complex -- nouns have six fully inflected cases, verbs have an extensive paradigm similar to Latin's, and there are twelve verbal nouns and participles. Çomyopregi differs from related European languages in its loss of gender distinctions, use of suffixed person markers, and lack of true infinitives, among other distinctive features.
Language SourcesIt is derived from Proto-Indo-European, and its development was informed by comparison with Greek, Latin, Germanic, Russian, and Sanskrit.
Design PrinciplesÇomyopregi was intended to be a realistic-seeming IE language derived from the protolanguage (as opposed to an auxlang that is an amalgam of modern IE languages) and one that was aesthetically pleasing to me.
Interest Of OthersA few friends have expressed interest. Conlangers interested in Proto-Indo-European and Indo-European languages may find it interesting.
