Language Typejargon
UniquenessIt is an attempt to "de-jargonize" English by extracting many of the unnaturalised Graeco-Latin elements from the language. Primarily this is to make English more understandable to those with no classical education and secondarily to make English more Germanic-feeling.
Language SourcesAnglo-Romance provided much impetus. German and other Germanic languages also have been the source of much inspiration.
Design PrinciplesThere are several. The key ones are:
1. Graeco-Latin (GL) words which are formed from roots not extant in English separately (such as the "flect" of "inflection", "reflection", "deflect" etc) should be replaced with Saxonized/Anglish forms based on Germanic roots, so far as this is practical. Example: "inflect" becomes "inbend".
2. Neo-classical innovations, such as many technical terms, are to be made Saxonized/Anglish. Thus "photograph" becomes "sun-print".
3. Gramatical words of GL origin shall not be replaced, and nor shall any words whose intended replacement does not capture the essence of the word.
Interest Of OthersThere are three or more other people interested. The reasons are politics, social views, linguistic needs, and aesthetical tastes.
