IntroductionThis is the Babel Text translated into my conlang Matscem, in which I've been working since a year or so. One major aspect of Matscem is its strict syllable structure that allows lots of sound combinations while making it very simple to know where syllables and words begin and end both writing and speaking. The re-translation into English is quite literal. My English is not very good. There may be errors and some sentences may sound odd.
Verse 1Nimi dou ket poru zai sen matu zcala zúra veppar.
Verse 2Lévom dón labak heda niomoie hora zoumiscsyer tjeg, nai Scinar labaké zvetye niovilasca veusik heltjeg, ton veurei.

Interlinear Translation 1Time that only language one and words same few (passive) speak.
Translation 2All people as a group from region eastern living-place another they find-started when, in Shinar region-of plain living-worth they find because-when, there they stay.
Translation 3Day one to each other this they say: "Brick we'll make and in fire we'll burn." Therefore from time that brick not stone and mortar not mud they'll use.
Translation 4Then this they say: "Come! City and tower, which end-of until sky shall it'll reach, we'll build. Therefore we'll be well-known and in lands as a group all not must we'll around-go."
Translation 5There-but God city and tower, which people they build, want he'll see because, to Earth he comes when,
Translation 6this he thinks: "To people these it is only nation-feeling one and language one although, work this they've started and against rain-flood they'll continue.
Translation 7Well-must people language-of I'll confuse so that, each other not they'll understand."
Translation 8Therefore-then God people he around-go-makes because, city they build-stop.
Translation 9That place God Earth-live-people all language-of he confused and in lands as a group he around-go-makes. Therefore city of name it is Babel.
English Paraphrase 11. In that time, only one language and the same few words were spoken.
Paraphrase 22. As people from the eastern region started to look for another place to live, they found a plain worth a living in the region of Shinar and thus they remained there.
Paraphrase 33. One day they said this to each other: "We will make bricks and burn them in the fire." So from that moment on they used bricks, not stone, and material, not clay.
Paraphrase 44. Then they said this: "Come! We will build a city and a tower whose end reaches the sky. Because of that we will be famous and will not need to scatter on all lands."
Paraphrase 55. But then, as God came to Earth because he wanted to see the city and the tower people were building,
Paraphrase 66. He thought this: "Although there is only one nationality and one language to these people, they have begun that work and will not give it up at any cost.
Paraphrase 77. I ought to confuse their language, so they will not understand each other."
Paraphrase 88. Consequently, people gave up building the city because God scattered them.
Paraphrase 99. At that place God confused the language of all people that lived on Earth and scattered them on all lands. This is why the name of the city is Babel.
