| Introduction | This is the Babel Text translated into my conlang Matscem, in which I've been working since a year or so. One major aspect of Matscem is its strict syllable structure that allows lots of sound combinations while making it very simple to know where syllables and words begin and end both writing and speaking. The re-translation into English is quite literal. My English is not very good. There may be errors and some sentences may sound odd. |

| English Paraphrase 1 | 1. In that time, only one language and the same few words were spoken. |

| Paraphrase 2 | 2. As people from the eastern region started to look for another place to live, they found a plain worth a living in the region of Shinar and thus they remained there. |

| Paraphrase 3 | 3. One day they said this to each other: "We will make bricks and burn them in the fire." So from that moment on they used bricks, not stone, and material, not clay. |
