Translation 4Then (they-do) said, «come, (to-us) (we-will-build) (let-us) city with tower that (will-reach) Heaven, (to-get) name. (In that way) (we-will-not-be) into whole World (spread(-wish)).
Translation 5Then came down Lord (to-see) city and tower that do people built.
Translation 6Does Lord said, «behold: (they-are) (predicate-particle) one people, and everyone is same language. Is this (predicate-particle) (the-first) that (they-do). Everything that (they-do) now want, (will-not-be) (for-them) (predicate-particle) impossible
Translation 7(We-will-come) down and (we-will-confuse) (their-language) (let-us), (so-that) (they-will-not-understand) eachother.»
Translation 8And (does-them) from there into whole World Lord spread, and (they-do) stopped (subordinate-clause-particle) (to-build) city.

English Paraphrase 1The whole World had one language and the same tongue.
Paraphrase 2When people went from the East, they found a valley in Shinar and settled there.
Paraphrase 3They said to each other, «Come, let's make bricks and burn them well.» They used bricks for stone and tar for mortar.
Paraphrase 4Then they said, «Come, let's build ourselves a city with a tower that reaches the Heavens in order to get a name. In that way we won't be spread into the whole World.
Paraphrase 5Then the Lord camedown to see the city and the tower that the people had built.
Paraphrase 6The Lord said, «Behold, they are one pople, and everyone has the same language. This is the first thing they do. Everything they now wish to do, won't be impossible for them.
Paraphrase 7Let's go comedown and confuse their language, so that they won't understand each other.
Paraphrase 8And the Lord spread them from there into the whole World, and they stopped building the city.
Paraphrase 9Therefore it got the name «Babel» - because there the Lord confused the language of the whole World, and from there the Lord spread them into the whole World.
