English Paraphrase 1And the whole world had one speech.
Paraphrase 2And it consequently occurred, while they all travelled from the east, they all found plains at the land of Shinar; and they all somewhat fixedly lived at that place.
Paraphrase 3And they all said to each other, "come all, let us all create bricks, and burn only them well." And they all had bricks for stones and they all had mud for mortar.
Paraphrase 4And they all said, “come all, let us all build for ourselves a city and a tower, the top of which may reach heaven; and let us all create for ourselves a name, let us all not be consequently broadly scattered on the face of the world.”
Paraphrase 5And the Lord came downward to see the city and the tower, that the children of humans built.
Paraphrase 6And the Lord said: “look all, the people are one, and they all have one speech; and they all begin these things: and nothing consequently will be bound from them all, that they all have imagined.
Paraphrase 7Come all, let us all descend, and at that place let us all confuse their speech, and they all consequently will not understand their speech.”
Paraphrase 8The Lord consequently broadly scattered them all from that place on the face of the world: and they all left away to build the city.
Paraphrase 9Its name therefore is Babel; for the reason being the Lord confused the speech of the world at that place: and from that place the Lord broadly scattered them all on the face of the world.
