| Translation 2 | as men [they] moved toward the east, they found a plain in Shinar and they settled in that place. |

| Translation 3 | they said to them, "we will make bricks and we will bake them thoroughly." They used bricks in the place of stone and tar in the place of mortar. |

| Translation 4 | they said then, "we will build for us a city, with a [great] tower that [it] reaches to the heavens so we will be able to make for us a name and [to] be not scattered on the world." |
