UniquenessMost of the ideas for this language came from incidents and situations that happened in my own everyday life. Lots of things about it have stories behind them. This makes it unlike any other language I've ever seen because so much of me is poured into it: something no other conlang from anyone else can ever have. :-)
Language SourcesMany, many. English, Italian, Sindarin, Quenya, Arabic, Swahili, Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, Welsh, Ancient Egyptian, and my own imagination. :-) There may have been more, but those are the ones I can remember. :-)
Design PrinciplesI tried to design it to sound beautiful and flowing, and to be easy to learn with as few complications as possible. All throughout my language studies from junior high school to college, I've had many teachers and professors who had annoying tendencies to over- complicate the simplest concepts and make things unnecessarily difficult. So, as a bit of an in-your-face to those teachers who insisted that a new language can never be easy, I made it as simple as I could without it being a carbon copy of English or a Romance language. :-) It's pretty much an easy language to learn for someone interested in, yet intimidated by, learning a new language.
Interest Of OthersUpon hearing of the invention of Seyekoneth, one church friend of mine named Kenny was inspired to create three conlangs of his own, one of which is based on Seyekoneth. Occasionally, he gives me new ideas for words and phrases here and there, as the vocabulary is a work in progress, approaching 2500 words. Aside from that, I've had at least five people tell me they read my site, thought it was interesting/beautiful/cool, and that they were interested in looking into it and maybe learning it. :-) I also have a blog written in Seyekoneth with a little English here and there: number of people who saw Seyekoneth and decided to have a look into it.
