UniquenessRúmeann was born to be of the antique beauty of the Norse languages, which taste like runes carved into wet stones and old wood inside a forgotten forest, while adding aspects and quirks of the equally beautiful Celtic languages, which sound like druids chanting magic spells, and also the longest name of a train-station kowthe in sondry londes. Its vocabulary is (almost) completely a posteriori, derived from Proto-Germanic and Proto-Celtic roots, with the occasional loan word to season the soup. The language has five cases, which have developed from a mixture of both proto-languages, and also a rather quirky Latin orthography which is at least as adorably non-phonological as that of Icelandic or English, borrowing from Welsh and Dalecarlian as well as Old Norse, all mixed, of course, with lots of stuff spewed out by my own head. Additionally, it comes with an alternative "secret" writing system which is heavily inspired by the Voynich manuscript. The name itself is a contraction of the words rúnu, which means "of secrets", and meann, meaning "mouth" or "language". So it is the "Language of Secrets".
Language SourcesOld Norse, Welsh, Dalecarlian, Faroese, Icelandic, Irish Gaelic, Old English, German, Norwegian, Cepperjoleddicg, Adelic, and a lot more.
Interest Of OthersBeside myself, there's only one person who's truly interested in the language, and that is this wonderful human being yclept Elyon. Why is she interested? Because she is at least as afgedraaid as I am.
