Site LanguageHungarian, English
Language Typeinternational auxiliary language
UniquenessIt has no special unique features as compared to the other romlangs (Romance constructed languages). However, it is the most successful modern conlang that has Hungarian origin. Since it comes from the eastern side of the Iron Curtain, it is not significantly influenced by contemporary Western projects (e.g., Interlingua).
Language SourcesRomance languages, mainly Spanish, with Italian in a lesser degree.
Design PrinciplesRomanid is highly naturalistic. Its vocabulary is based almost solely on the Romance languages. The accent and the gender of the words are complicated and sometimes irregular. Adjectives have no agreement. Nouns lack declension; however, most of the pronouns have accusative; some of them have special forms such as direct object. Finite verbs have no personal inflexions but have a regular plural form. There are four moods: indicative, imperative, conditional and hortative (a limited subjunctive); there are four tenses in indicative: present, past, future, future perfect.
Interest Of OthersActually it is a dead language, but may be interesting for those who study the history of interlinguistics.
