UniquenessCelltiecc is, to date, the only truly Celtic auxiliary language. While Brithenig and Breathanach imagine a language that would have occurred had Latin displaced Celtic languages, Celltiecc is actually a lingua franca for Celtic speakers, not Romance-based. Site #1 is actually quite out-of-date and is about 120 words short (the lexicon has about 250 words). For more updated information, go to the Celltiecc mailing list at Site #2. Created in 1998 but revived in 2003 and still in the works, so any estimate of dictionary size will be out-of-date soon. Well about 250, I think.
Language SourcesThe six insular Celtic languages: Irish, Welsh, Breton, Scottish Gaelic, Manx and Cornish.
Design PrinciplesAnything in Celltiecc must be maximally understandable for any Goidelic (Q-Celtic) or Brythonic (P-Celtic) speaker. Celltiecc must be easy to learn and grammatically regular, but still natural enough so as to not be a strain for Celtic speakers to recognize.
Interest Of OthersMyself (Nathaniel Ament-Stone) and Dean Powell and others are all actively involved in the project along with its creator, Duke Keenan. Many are interested and are beginning to take part, and interest in Celltiecc grows on a regular basis. Feel free to join the Yahoo group for Celltiecc at site #2, because Celltiecc is an interactive project and little is written in stone. We are looking for any ideas or suggestions you may have.
