Introduction | This is the Norwegian dialect spoken around the capitol city. It is written like it sounds. Å is aa (like the "o" in "oh no"); Æ is like the two first "A's" in "Alabama"; Ø is like the "ou" in "country"; Y is hehe.. I don't know an English word with this sound. Different sounds for the the three letters "I", "Y" and "J", but an English person would not tell the difference, but there are. |

Verse 2 | Å jordn var øøde å tååm, å deh waar mørkeh åver deh store dyp, å Guudds åånnd swewdeh ååver vannenne. |
Verse 3 | Da saa Guud: Deh blii lyys! Å deh bleh lyys. |
Verse 4 | Å Guud såå att lyseh war gått, å Guud skilteh lyseh fra mørkeh. |
Verse 5 | Å Guud kalteh lyseh daag, åå mørkeh kalt'n natt. Å deh bleh aftn, å deh bleh mårg'n, føshteh daag. |
Verse 6 | Å Guud saa: Deh blii 'n welwing mitt y wannenne, åå den skah skilleh wann fra wann. |
Verse 7 | Å Guud joreh welwing'n åå skilteh vanneh såmm ær ååver welwing'n. Åå deh bleh sååh |
Interlinear Translation 1 | In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. |
Translation 2 | And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. |
Translation 3 | And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. |
