Interlinear Translation 1And one language and few words the land-of was.
Translation 2And it when they from the east travelled was, they in the land of Sinar a plain found and there dwelt.
Translation 3And one man his friend-to said, "Come! we bricks make-will and we them to a burning burn-will." And the bricks stones like were, and the clay mortar like was.
Translation 4And they said, "Come! We a city and a tower we-for build-will and the tower's head in the sky be-will, and we a name we-for make-will, lest we on the face-of all the-world scattered be-will."
Translation 5And God the city and the tower which the sons-of Mankind built-had see-to descended.
Translation 6And God said,"Behold, one nation, and one language all them-for there is, and they this do-to start-will. And now, it from them denied be-will-not, all which they do-to plot-will.
Translation 7Come! We descend-will and we their language there confuse-will, that one man the language-of his friend hear-will-not.
Translation 8And God them from there on the face-of all the-world scattered, and they the city building stopped.
Translation 9People it "Babel" called, because God the language-of all the-world confused, and God them there on the face-of all the-world scattered.
Notes 1Both "æt" and "dæ" mean and, but one is for combining ideas while the other is for single words.
Notes 2I changed Shinar to Sinar to make it more phonologically fit.
