Language Typefictional language
UniquenessThe most unique aspect of Anaqaen is the use of vowel morphing to show tense and number. Also, the language uses suffixes (and a couple of prefixes) to replace certain pronouns and adjectives (mostly the articles).
Language SourcesQuenya, Sindarin, Latin, Spanish
Design PrinciplesI wanted Anaqaen to sound distinctly Old English. I used Sindarin Elvish as a base because of it's sound (which Tolkien says is based on Old Welsh). However, I wanted to decline nouns and have the conjugations of Latin.
Quotationamaenhenel qaeny, qeneny, i aeny lomsath elabeqi Anaqaeny.
